Why take photographs?
I also photograph the way a painter would paint. I heighten the angles, stretch the lines, set my subjects apart, work the light, select my colours.

There's something distracting about reading a photographer's story. It clashes with the stillness of the photos. I'd even say that, sometimes, the story elevates the image — without it, well... it's just "a bench, y'know".
